One of the most common questions after a first laser hair removal session is:
“Why did my friend’s hair almost disappear, but mine didn’t?”
The answer is simple – yet important: the effectiveness of laser hair removal depends not only on the technology, but also on your individual features.

Skin type, hair colour, and hormones
Results vary based on skin phototype, hair colour, and even hormonal balance. Clients with fair skin and dark hair usually see the most visible results, sometimes up to 80% after just one session. That’s because we can use higher laser settings, safely targeting the pigment in the hair without harming the skin.

For clients with darker skin, things work differently. Since the skin also contains more melanin, we must reduce the laser power for safety. This prevents burns, but also slows down the process. The results may be less visible after the first treatment, but they’re coming, just on a slower path.

Freckles, pigmentation, and sensitivity
Clients with light skin but freckles or pigmentation also require extra care. The goal is to target the hair without irritating sensitive areas. Results still appear, though the skin might respond more actively, and the treatment may feel slightly more intense.

Personalised treatment = better outcomes
Laser hair removal is not a one-size-fits-all treatment. The same machine works differently depending on skin tone, hair texture, and even genetics. A professional’s job is to choose the safest and most effective protocol for you.

So if your result looks different from someone else’s, don’t worry. It’s not “better” or “worse” – just different. And we know how to work with your skin to achieve smooth, lasting results – safely and effectively.
