This is one of the most common questions asked by first-time clients.

The most important rule is that your skin should be smoothly shaved in the areas where the procedure is planned.

Many people get confused because they’ve heard that you need to arrive with some hair growth. But for laser hair removal, that’s incorrect. The hair should be completely shaved, and the skin should be clean, with no skincare or cosmetic products applied.

When should you shave?
The optimal time is about 5–6 hours before the session. Everyone’s hair grows at a different pace, but if you shave the night before, 1–2 mm of hair might already be visible by morning. To ensure smooth skin, it’s best to shave closer to the appointment time.

Why is this important?
If there is hair left on the surface, it can burn during the laser session and cause a stinging sensation.

The laser’s effective depth is about 3–4 mm. If the hair is too long (7–10 mm), the energy may not reach the hair follicle effectively. As a result, the treatment will be less effective.
